Ilyinsky Fair

The Ilyinsky Fair originated in Samatevichi and dates back almost two hundred years. Since ancient times, the villages of Samatevichi and Belynkovichi have held annual fairs on Ilya Day, where people bought and sold household goods and livestock. Merchants from Roslavl, Bryansk, and even Kyiv flocked to the Ilyinsky Fair to buy, trade, and have fun! Craftsmen enjoyed the opportunity to sell their wares: barrels, baskets, churns, tubs, lids, pots, and clay cast-iron pots.

Apple Savior Festival

Every year on August 19, the "Apple Savior" festival is held in the agrotown of Muravilye, which has become a signature event for the Kostyukovichsky District.
Traditionally, the festival begins with the blessing of apples. The service is conducted by Father Georgy, rector of the Church of Our Lady of Kazan.
The event begins with words of gratitude addressed to residents by the Chairman of the Proletarsky Village Executive Committee or high-ranking guests. A ceremony is held presenting letters of gratitude and awards for their active participation to members of the Proletarsky Council of Deputies and local residents of the agrotown of Shareyki, the village of Proletarskoye, and nearby villages. Certificates are awarded for participation in the cultural life of the village council and to many club members.
The ceremony is followed by a theatrical performance, competitions, ditties, entertainment, and songs! The imagination of the cultural workers is enviable. Bright and colorful photo zones beckoned every guest! And all because they wanted to win the "Apple Paradise" photo booth competition. Here, you could not only take a souvenir photo but also sample an apple or freshly squeezed juice.
But that's not the only competition! The jury would like to choose the Apple Queen, taking into account the originality of the costume and the artistry of the performance.
Throughout the festival, performers from the District Cultural Center and village clubs will delight the audience. Plenty of toys, sweets, and treats are available for purchase at the vendor booths, trampolines and play areas are open, and arts and crafts artisans offer their exclusive creations.
This is what Apple Savior should be like – bright, delicious, and joyful!
